Shirl McMayon

Shirl McMayonShirl McMayon is a newest board member. However, she served as SNAG President in 1998, back when she first moved to Las Vegas from Louisiana. At that time, she was also President-Elect of the Nevada Landscape Association; resigning from both organizations when she moved to Chicago in 1999. Shirl served as Director of Natural Resources for the Chicago Park District for 6 years, managing over 550 city parks and landscapes. She then moved to Park City, Utah, in 2005 and made the mountains her home until returning to Las Vegas in 2013. While in Utah, she was the arborist for the Utah Olympic Park and then the Environmental Educator/Volunteer Coordinator for the Utah State University Swaner EcoCenter in Park City. She is an ISA Certified Arborist, and an ASCA Registered Consulting Arborist. She has a bachelor of science in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Louisiana. Shirl served on the Utah Community Forestry Council for 4 years, the Utah chapter liaison to the TREE Fund, and a Tour des Trees rider and fundraiser in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2011 and 2012. She also rode for the Britton Fund in 2014.
